Jan Brett Author Study

Students in K-2nd grade are participating in an author study about author/illustrator Jan Brett. Through this study, students are learning about what inspires authors and illustrators to write and draw, how to identify parts of a book, and about how readers read favorite stories over and over again. Students have enjoyed reading Jan Brett's books so far!

First Grade Collaboration

First grade students are learning about Past and Present by comparing Colonial times to today. During library lessons, students are learning how to conduct research using the SUPER 3 Method by Bob Berkowitz. We work together to PLAN our past and present research, then we DO the research using PebbleGO!, then we REVIEW our findings. Students bring the chart of research notes back to class with them. It has been fun learning to research in first grade!

Kindergarten Collaboration

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Shorter's and Mrs. Segers' classes visited the library last week to go on a Fairy Tale Field Trip. We used Google Earth to take a tour of where various Fairy Tales originated. Students have been studying Fairy Tales in class for the past several weeks.
